AI-powered speechwriting for weddings

Speech planning helps the couple decide who should speak as well as what topics they should cover. Most of what they should cover might seem obvious but there can be a lot of complexity. For example, if the groom is toasting the bridesmaids, and the maid of honor is not speaking, then the best man should thank him for the toast on the bridesmaid's behalf. But what if it is the bride who is giving that toast? Or what if the maid of honor is speaking for herself? The tool helps the couple think through little details like that, as well as timing and other factors that deserve some attention.

There is a lot more to it than just the Large Language Model (LLM). The process starts with a dynamic questionnaire that presents questions to the user based on their previous answers. In practice, each speaker at a wedding will be presented with a completely different set of questions. In the questionnaire, they will also get to select from curated content (wisecracks, bible verses, etc.) and be asked to write anecdotes or personal reflections. Our software will then work out a suitable structure for all this content, depending on the type of speech being given and the answers to the various questions. We will then use the LLM to blend all of the content into paragraphs and again later make appropriate adjustments to refine those paragraphs into a polished speech. So we do use Generative AI, but in a highly controlled manner.

Although they can't see what the speakers have written, the couple can see whether the speakers have started their projects. They can, therefore, remind the speakers (as can we) if the wedding is getting close.
