13 Wedding Website FAQs: Essential Questions to Answer
Our service has assisted tens of thousands of couples worldwide in planning their dream weddings!
We Share the Best Wedding Website FAQ Questions and How to Answer Them
In our experience, you could include 100+ FAQ questions on your wedding website, and guests will still find something to frantically message about 24 hours before the big day! But, on the whole, an extensive FAQ page will answer the vast majority of important questions loved ones need answers to. Saving you a lot of admin further down the line.
One of the major benefits of having a wedding website, such as ours, is the FAQ page. Traditionally, printed invitations only provide a limited amount of space for details about the ceremony and reception. Space for notes about the dress code, maybe contact info and registry instructions. But little else. Whereas an online FAQ section gives you the opportunity to share as much advice and information as you like, and keep it updated 24/7. Which is ideal if you're someone who often wakes up in the middle of the night sweating because you've forgotten something! With online FAQs, you can quickly slot in any forgotten questions whenever it suits you.
Mapping out common questions wedding guests may have, is a really useful task, regardless of what stage of wedding planning you're at. As it typically brings up aspects of the day not thought of yet. Where are out-of-town guests going to stay? Can we give everyone a plus one? What is our wedding hashtag?! Planning a wedding involves countless moving pieces, and it is all too easy to forgot about the obvious things when you're so involved in the process.

13 Questions for Your Wedding Website FAQ Section
To help you keep your guest list happy, and ease the pressure of event planning, we've put together the 13 questions you need to include on your wedding website FAQ page. Frequently asked questions that we know your loved ones will put to you if the answers aren't down in black and white.
Design a wedding website
1. Arrival Times
Your website and wedding invitation should clearly state the ceremony start time, and reception start time. But it's also useful to give your guests an idea of when they should arrive, as that will decrease the likelihood of loved ones being late. Wedding venues typically allow people to arrive 15 minutes before the ceremony, but do check that information before sharing it with your guests.
2. Dress Code
When we attend a wedding, or event, we like to know precisely what the dress code is. Is it formal, black tie, semi-formal, destination wedding attire? Is there a color theme? Examples of a chosen dress code are super useful too, as they help to instantly give a picture of what to wear.
3. Typical Local Weather for that Day/Weekend
We'd all love to be able to predict the weather with 100% accuracy, but alas, this is almost impossible. But what you can do is provide guests with an idea of what the weather should be like, as that will help them prepare appropriate outfits for their trip.
We hate to break it to you, but it may rain on your wedding day... But your venue or wedding planner will have a backup plan, include that somewhere in your info section too.

PLANNING . WEDDING — is easy to remember and even easier to use.
4. Whether the Wedding will be Indoors or Outdoors
This links into the last one, as some guests in particular may need to choose a certain type of heel for your wedding, depending on the surface. And everyone will need to ensure they're dressed appropriately for the season, and time of day. If you're planning an evening golden hour wedding ceremony, for example, loved ones will likely need a jacket or something to stave off the cold. Unless you're marrying in the height of summer.
5. Transport to the Ceremony and Wedding Reception
Guests should be comfortable enough in finding your venue/s if you provide the address and possibly GPS coordinates. But if everyone is staying in a nearby hotel, then it's also useful to share info about shuttle buses and taxis. If that's not the case, then be sure to tell guests where they can park on-site, or close to the wedding venue.
6. RSVP Card Information
Our wedding website makes it easy for you to gather RSVP information quickly from guests. And this section on your wedding website can be customized to suit any celebration style.
There will always be friends and family members who leave sending their confirmation to the last minute. Which is why it's important to give an RSVP deadline on your FAQ page. Just to remind your guests of how long they have to check their calendars.
7. Plus One Rule
If you need to keep guest numbers down, answer this FAQ clearly on your wedding website. Our online RSVP section allows you to restrict plus one's to the guests you've allotted. But it's always good to ensure everyone is on the same page regarding this policy, and let them know that you'll inform them personally if they have a plus one.

8. Kids at the Wedding
We love a wedding with kids running around, but if that's not your idea of a relaxing celebration, let your guests know early. Some may not be able to attend if not with their kids, whereas others will be glad of the break! Regardless, they'll still need time to arrange childcare, especially if long-distance travel is involved. This issue is often a sensitive one, so be kind in how you answer this question.
9. Wedding Timeline
One of the many free wedding planning tools we provide is the wedding timeline creator. A really handy piece of software that allows you to quickly map out your day, hour by hour, minute by minute. This information is not only useful to you, but also to your guests. Don't share the entirety of your wedding timeline with all of your guests. But instead create a breakdown of events. Just so they know what to expect.
If there is travel involved between the ceremony, reception, cocktail hour and any other wedding event, be sure to include that on your timeline.
10. An Unplugged Wedding Ceremony
None of us are ever further than 2ft from a screen these days. Which is why the experience of attending an unplugged wedding is so freeing, for most of us! But in order to completely 'unplug' your wedding, you'll need to let guests know before the big day. Giving fair warning should stop guests getting upset about not being able to use their phones. And if you explain why you would like to celebrate in this way, it may inspire loved ones to put down their phones a little more often.
11. Wedding Registry
It's a good idea to have a section on your website dedicated exclusively to wedding registry and gifts, as guests will want to know what they can give. Provide the same information in your wedding FAQs, along with live links, and you'll avoid any unwanted questions about wedding gifts on the day.
12. Contact Information
As we said, common FAQ questions will not be enough for some, and there will be guests who need additional information. Our advice is not to give out your personal email or phone number, and instead set up an email especially for your wedding. Somewhere that vendors and your guests can spam to their hearts delight, without filling up your private email space.
You should also explain that your wedding website will provide up-to-date information as it happens. And guests are invited to check there first, before contacting directly.
13. Wedding Hashtag
If you don't create a wedding hashtag, your guests will do it for you! Which can be confusing if multiple groups of guests create different hashtags... Keep things simple for yourself and share your hashtag within your FAQs, and on your wedding invitation.
