Let one guest answer for the whole family

Group a family in your guest list and let one person reply for everyone through their personal link.

When a family is grouped in your guest list, one member can reply for everyone: the form lists the other members, and each one ticked gets their own questions.

Step by step

  1. Step 1Group the family in the guest list

Put the members in one family — see Families and households.

  2. Step 2Keep the family block in the form

The RSVP form has a block for relatives — Enable RSVPs for family members. It is there from the start; if you deleted it, add it back with Add question or input field. Keep it near the end of the form.

The RSVP form in the editor: the block for relatives with the family picture, and the plus-one question below it
  3. Step 3Send the personal link

Send your personal invitation link to the person who will answer — see Send personal invitation links.

  4. Step 4What the guest sees

Their name is already filled in, and the other family members are listed with a tick box. Ticking a relative opens the questions for them.

The RSVP form opened with Olivia Brown’s link: James Brown ticked under the relatives, with his own name, attendance and dietary questions
  5. Step 5Choose which questions repeat

For each question, the Who should answer this question? icon on its bar decides who it is asked for: Everyone (each person), Primary guest only (once — good for a comment) or Family members and plus-ones only. With Primary guest only you can also switch on Use the same answer for everyone in the group, so one answer counts for the whole group.

The Who should answer this question? window: Everyone, Primary guest only, Family members and plus-ones only

Tips and important notes

  • With the common link, the form looks up the name the guest types and lists their family too. A personal link is more reliable.
  • Each family member arrives as a reply of their own, marked with the name of the person who added them — see Review RSVP responses.
  • Family members are people already on your list; for someone you don’t know yet, use a plus-one — see Plus-ones.
