Connect your own domain
Open your wedding website at an address you own, such as annaandtom.com.
If you own a domain name, your wedding website can open at it. It takes a few technical steps with your domain registrar and Cloudflare; the app walks you through them. Connecting a domain needs Premium.
Step by step
Step 1Start the guide
Open Website → Basic settings and click Add custom domain.
Step 2Get a domain
If you don’t have one yet, buy it from a domain registrar such as GoDaddy.
Step 3Move it to Cloudflare
Create a free Cloudflare account, add your domain, and at your registrar replace the domain’s nameservers with the ones Cloudflare gives you. This usually takes minutes, sometimes a few hours.
Step 4Point it to the website
In Cloudflare, open the domain’s DNS records and keep a single A record on the root of the domain with the IP address shown in the guide (it has a button to copy it). Under SSL/TLS choose Flexible.
Step 5Link the domain
Back in the guide, type your domain without “http://” and click Link the domain. The website opens at the new address at once or within an hour.
Tips and important notes
- The guide asks you to remove the domain’s other DNS records, so use a domain that has nothing else on it, such as e-mail.
- You can open the steps again with Domain name setup guide, and Disconnect domain name returns the website to its usual address.
- Check that the website opens at the new address before you share it.
